Had a really good experience with the owner, sent me a quick video of the car as I was travelling a fair distance. Also came to pick me up from the station. Car was as discribed. Had a drive and all was good. Found a little light scratch on the car but gentlement sorted it all in few moments whilst I enjoyed a nice cup of tea. We shook hands and I paid for the car there and then. Had it about 4 months now without any issues. The owner even rang me to see if it was ok. It was a nice touch I have to say. Felt really valued even when I have not spent tens of thousands for a car. Thank you Sir.
Disappointed to say the least. My car was advertised as full service history when I got there it was not. To which I was told oh sorry I must have made a mistake. When I took it for a test drive I mentioned that the brakes sounded like they need replacing to which I was told 'no it's because the car has been sat in the cold for a few weeks' that they have recently been fixed but couldn't find the paperwork. I trusted this seller because he seemed really personable. I don't know much about cars either so took it all in good faith. 7 months later I take my Astravan to get the MOT done and a full service. The mechanic said he doesn't ever think it had a full service and there are no stamps to prove. Just the basic servicing. BUT that's not the kick in the teeth. I felt the gear box sticking a lot whilst driving. I didn't mention anything as the gear box oil was getting topped up in the service. When I collected my car he said that it had been saturated with oil and put in the wrong way. My gear box is knackered, the clutch and dual mass fly wheel needs replacing. Not only that but the back brake disks and pads are worn, and the radiator needs replacing as it's knackered also.Total cost to me 1550 I've had the car 7 months and only done 5,000 miles. So if you're going to buy from this seller. Make sure you get a full inspection check before handing over your hard earned money.
